Teenage Wasteland
This book represents a missed opportunity at what could have been an exciting look at The Who from someone that
has followed their career from very early on. Chris was a writer for Melody Maker and a very vocal Who supporter
throughout most of the 60’s and 70’s. His friendship with the band during their most productive era surely could have
prepared him with an insight that would have made for a more compelling read. Instead we get a rather weakly
researched biography that reads like it was tossed off over a weekend. He is loose with the facts and even gets
song titles wrong (A Legal Wrangle, Free & Easy). Lots of black & white photos.
