smashing success.

Herman (Peter Nnone is
his real name) was as com-

/.

‘REY Ruttledge, 1?, son
of a dead Navy pilot,

ical as always and his
voice was magnificent. He
sang many of the Hermit’s
biggest hits and they
sounded almost better than
the actual recordings,

Even when lead guitar
player Derek Leckenby
broke a string on his gui-
tar and was forced to leave
the stage, the show went
on and the Hermits sound-
ed just great.

It was very apparent
that the Hermits, now vet-
erans in their field, haven’t
been just loafing and mak-
in;: money on their name
since their last appear-
ance in the Twin Cities a
year ago.

Last night’s show was
twice as good and their
music was three times bet-
ter. They were organized,
poised and prepared for
anything. Just to be differ-
ent, they started the show
with “A Little Help From
My Friends,” off the Bea-
tles’ latest album.

They progressed to their
hits of the past several
years including “Listen
P e 0 p l 6.” “Mrs. Brown,
You've Got a Lovely
Daughter," and “Dandy."

A rather s m all crowd

of 4,000 attended the per-
formance.

Appearing with the Her-
mits were The Blues Ma-
gons and The Who.

The Blues Magoos‘ liv-
ing up to their psychedelic
reputation, put on a fabu-
lous light show featuring
$10,000 lighted suits.

The Who, and English
group with not much of a
reputation around here,
was very good. They high-
lighted their show by drop
kicking over three eXpen—
sive amplifiers and com-

pletely demolishing a gui-
