Music acts
take swing
at spring

Play ball! The lockout is over. Spring
training has sprung. Here’s today’s lineup:
Robert Plant is pitching Manic Nirvana.
Andrew Dice Clay is catching in foul
territory. Steve Tracy and the Crawling
Kingsnakes have the blues in right.
Kaoma’s doing “Lambada” in center.
Sinead O’Connor is in left field. Wilson,
Phillips and Wilson are handling third,
short and second. And, the Who’s on first.

The Who, Join Together, MCA. *

During the summer of 1989, Roger
Daltrey, John Entwistle and Pete
Townshend barnstormed the country
doing an easy-listening impersonation of
the Who. Join Together documents this
farce during the course of 34 lifeless
in-concert cuts on two CDs, two cassettes
or two LPs. For the record: Daltrey’s
voice is shot. Strike oqe. Townshend’s

guitar playing is lame. Strike two. N at one
song has anything on the ball. Strike
three. They’re out. Who’s next?
