Shout and Shimmy

Recorded April 12-14, 1965 at IBC Studios, London.

A cover of the song originally released by James Brown and the Famous Flames in July 1962 on both sides of the Atlantic. The Who’s version appeared as the B-side of the European single of "My Generation." It was not released in the U.S. until Who’s Missing in 1985. A stereo mix is available on My Generation: Deluxe Edition.

As with all the James Brown covers here, it was a staple of The Who’s live act at the time but was dropped with the rest by 1966.
