1963 – The Detours perform at the Evershed and Bignoles Apprentice Association Social Club Dance at the Feathers Hotel on Ealing Broadway, London

1965 – The Who play the Federation Club in Norwich, Norfolk

1971 – The Who play the second of two nights at San Francisco Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. The San Francisco Examiner carries a review of the previous days show. You can listen to the show on YouTube here

1973 – Roger performs the first of two nights as Tommy in the second all-star concert version of the orchestral Tommy at the Rainbow Theatre. Other members of the cast: David Essex (the Narrator), Marsha Hunt (the Nurse), Roger Chapman (Father), Elkie Brooks (Mother), Graham Bell (the Lover), Richie Havens (the Hawker), Bill Oddie (Cousin Kevin), Merry Clayton (the Acid Queen), Viv Stanshall (Uncle Ernie),

1974 – John and his band OX were scheduled to play the Southport Theatre but the show was cancelled

1975 – The Who play Providence Civic Center in Providence, Rhode Island

1977 – Pete is interviewed by Dave Schulps of Trouser Press. He says he won’t be touring with The Who in the foreseeable future. The interview appears in the April and May 1978 issues. You can read the interview on the Trouser Press website here

1977 – Roger overdubs his vocal on “Who Are You.”

1979 – The Who play the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland

1982 – The Who play Richfield Coliseum in Cleveland, Ohio

1990 – A Japanese TV station airs a live performance of Michael Hedges at The Bottom Line in New York. Hedges performs a cover of “Eminence Front. “You can watch a clip from this show on YouTube here

2002 – At the First Surround Sound Music Awards, the Music From Lifehouse DVD wins Best Standard Resolution title and Live At Royal Albert Hall: The Who And Special Guests wins Best Concert Video.

2010 – Pete Townshend is one of eighty celebrities signing a letter in The Times calling for Iran to release Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a woman sentenced to death by stoning for adultery. Four years later her sentence is commuted and she is set free.Read more about it here

2010 – The press reports that Ross Halfin is suing LiveNation for using on merchandise a 1978 photo he shot of The Who without his permission. The case was settled in June of 2011

2014 – The Who play the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester
