1965 – In Melody Maker, Chris Stamp explains that The Who “will be in the studios next week to record their next single, which should be released at the end of January. It will be another Pete Townshend composition, probably ‘Circles’ or ‘The Magic Bus’.”
1965 – The Who place a Christmas ad in Record Mirror
1974 – Keith and Alice Cooper attend a Flo and Eddie show at the Troubador in Los Angeles. During the encore they join the band onstage for a rendition of “Happy Together” and “Woolly Bully”
1981 – Pete visits his mother and father. They recognize that Pete is in horrible condition from his drug and alcohol addictions and beg him to get help. Shortly after this his wife Karen takes him back after a two-year separation and Pete makes plans to seek serious treatment.
1982 – “Eminence Front” backed with “One At A Time” hits the U.S. charts. Despite heavy play on MTV, the single peaks at #68 in Billboard and #77 in Cash Box. It is the last Who single to appear on either chart.
