1963 – The Detours play Oldfield Hotel in Greenford

1965 – The Who play the Trade Union Hall in Watford

1966 – Chris Stamp directs a video of The Who miming to the U.S. version of “Substitute” at a film studio in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden. Re-edited to the British version, it appears in The Kids Are Alright and Who’s Better Who’s Best.

1966 – The Who are scheduled to perform at the Beachcomber Club in Preston but it is cancelled due to contractual difficulties.

1967 – Who fly to New York

1974 – th records an interview with the BBC about his participation in the movie Stardust. It airs on the Film Night program on the 27th.

1975 – John and his band The Ox play the Indiana Fairgrounds Coliseum in Indianapolis opening for Joe Walsh

1975 – The soundtrack to Tommy: The Movie is released in the U.K. Melody Maker gives the album one of its few favorable reviews. The LP does not perform as well as in the U.S., peaking at #21

1976 – The Who play the Anaheim Stadium in Anaheim, California

1981 – “You Better You Bet” hits the U.S. charts. It ultimately peaks at #18 in the Billboard charts and #15 in Cash Box. One later record industry book claims that the single was not played as much as it should have been on U.S. radio stations due to Warner Brothers’ refusal to shell out payola money. “The Quiet One” is the B-side.

2005 – In a diary entry, Pete announces that the new Who album has “been delayed, not cancelled.” He also says planned shows will also be delayed because The Who’s drummer, Zak Starkey, is currently touring with Oasis.

2009 – The Who play the North Harbour Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand

2012 – Roger plays at Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome

2016 – The Who play the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
